Justice Ita Mbaba throws weight behind National Book Clubs Conference, Uyo 2021

A Justice of the Court of Appeal, His Lordship, Hon.(Justice) Ita Mbaba has endorsed the forthcoming National Book Clubs and Reading Promoters taking place in about a fortnight in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Mbaba, himself a respected books person and prolific author gave his backing to the much anticipated book fiesta last evening when he hosted members of the Conference’s Local Organizing Committee(LOC), led by the Chairman, Rt Hon.(Dr) Ekong Sampson and the founder of hosts, Uyo Book Club, Dr Udeme Nana at his Shelter Afrique home in Uyo.

Giving his words of endorsement, the revered jurist said that it was important to revive the reading culture in the country and praised founder and handlers of Uyo Book Club for nursing the birth of great reading generation, adding that the National Book Conference will put Uyo on the world map positively.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Hon.(Barr) Ekong Sampson said they were in the jurist’s house to inform him of the fast approaching conference and formally invite him to grace the day.

On his part, founder of the Uyo Book Club, Dr Udeme Nana hailed Justice Mbaba’s legacies in books and knowledge impartation, saying he remained a great role model to the younger generation.

The 1st ever National Book Conference will take place between 17th – 18th September, 2021 at Watbridge Hotels&Suites, Uyo.
